Who?
Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) — Co-chair, Congressional UAP Caucus
LISTEN: Laslo & Burchett II (9-11-2024)
Ask a Pol asks:
Do you have an update on a further UAP hearing?
Key Burchett II:
“I think [Rep. Nancy] Mace (R-SC) really has a grasp of the issue. She asked the tough questions the last time. She has a history with this, and she's known in the UAP/UFO community, much like Luna is — they ask the tough questions,” Burchett exclusively tells Ask a Pol. “And I'm not afraid of a lady being chairman.”
Goal of 2nd public UAP hearing?
“Exposure,” Burchett says. “Laying the groundwork, because nothing will happen until we get a president in the White House that says ‘we're gonna get to the bottom of this.’”

So there’s been no pushback from leadership on a public UAP hearing ahead of the November election?

TRANSCRIPT II: Rep. Tim Burchett
SCENE: After voting on the House floor, Rep. Tim Burchett’s heading back to his office across the street when Ask a Pol’s Matt Laslo runs into him.
Tim Burchett: “What were you askin?”
Matt Laslo: “So now that it’s public, do you think you guys are gonna be more effective going with Mace chairing than it would have been with [Rep. Glenn] Grothman or someone else?”
TB: “Yeah. Yeah.”
ML: “Why is that?”
TB: “I mean, they're not gonna — I don't know. I don't know. I mean, I don't think anymore so, but I think Mace really has a grasp of the issue. She asked the tough questions the last time. She has a history with this, and she's known in the UAP/UFO community, much like Luna is — they ask the tough questions, and I'm not afraid of a lady being chairman.”
ML: “And what do you guys as a caucus — because the time is running out on this Congress, this session — what do you guys hope to get out of it?”
TB: “Exposure.”
ML: “Or is it laying the groundwork?”
TB: “Laying the groundwork, because nothing will happen until we get a president in the White House that says ‘we're gonna get to the bottom of this.’”
ML: “Have you seen any signals of that from Trump-Vance or Harris-Walz?”
TB: “Yeah, Trump's people are big for it right now.”
ML: “Are they?”
TB: “Well cause he said something about it. Harris hasn't said anything about it. I think it's just a missed opportunity — you don't have to do anything, hardly.”
TB: “I have to get a video with Rick before I leave. Don’t leave Rick!”
ML: “Right? Do it. Do your thing.”
TB: “You got what you need?”
Laslo sits on a knee-wall to alert Burchett he still has more questions and lots of time…
ML: “So you think this is laying groundwork for next…?”
TB: “Yeah, future things. And I think we got some, we'll get some good quality witnesses in. And I think too more whistleblowers will come in because we’re serious.”
ML: “Yeah?”
TB: “I think that would be excellent. And I think that'll lay the groundwork for the next President to do what's right with this.”
ML: “Because right now, those whistleblowers have nowhere to go because they don't trust AARO?”
TB: “I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw the dome off the Capitol.”
ML: “Right? And you guys making this an actual issue. Do you think the start of the next Congress, no matter who's in control, we're just gonna see a different posture that issue will be taken seriously?”
TB: “I hope. I hope so. I don't see why it wouldn't. We have laid the groundwork for it.”
ML: “Yeah?”
Burchett walks up to Rick, pulls out his phone and starts a call...
ML: “Good to see ya. have a good one!”
Burchett and Rick start a video call together…
TB: “Hey Coach, Tim Burchett. Somebody here — my buddy Rick — wants to say, hello.”
Rick: “Hello...”
