This post has been updated to clarify a previous correction: On Nov. 19th two classified Senate hearings overlapped with each other at 2:30pm EST. Intel. Chair Warner led the Intelligence Committee hearing in the Senate Hart Office Building, which Ask a Pol’s Matt Laslo accidentally staked out. The topic(s) discussed are not public.

Separately and simultaneously, Senate Armed Services Committee members met with folks from AARO in the Office of Senate Security, ie the Senate SCIF (sensitive compartmented information facility). — Prof. Laslo

TRANSCRIPT: Sen. Mark Warner

SCENE: After staking out the classified Senate Intelligence hearing Nov. 19th briefing in the Senate Hart Office Building for more than an hour, Ask a Pol’s Matt Laslo — along with a few other reporters and a handful of Capitol Police officers — Senate Intelligence Committee Chair Mark Warner was the last senator to emerge from the SCIF (sensitive compartmented information facility).

Matt Laslo: “Did any mention of — did Langley come up in there?”

Mark Warner: “Pardon?”

ML: “Was any of that focus on the Langley incursion?”

MW: “No.”

ML: “No?”

MW: “No.”

ML: “Because, you know, Gillibrand’s doing a public UAP hearing here at 4:30?”

MW: “I’m familiar.”

ML: “But was that AARO folks in there?”

Warner shakes head no.

ML: “No?”

MW: “No.”

Warner shakes head in affirmative.

ML: “Yeah.”

MW: “Totally separate.”

ML: “Yeah, yeah.”

MW: “And we are, umm…”

Elevator bell dings, then dongs.

MW: “… I've got more to do on that one too, so…”

ML: “Yeah.”

MW: “Come meet me, hit me in a couple of days.”

ML: “There's a lot — there's a lot flying at us these days, sir.”

Warner nods affirmatively.

ML: “Preciate ya.”
