Two weeks before UFO whistleblower David Grusch testified before the House Oversight Committee this summer, Sen. Gary Peters (D-MI) was caught off guard when Ask a Pol inquired about the veteran.
“The what?” Peters — a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee or SASC — asked.
“The UAP or UFO whistleblower.”
“What whistleblower are you talking about?” Peters again asked.
Peters chairs the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee — or DSCC — which is the election arm of Senate Democrats.
Below is a rough transcript of Ask a Pol’s interview with Sen. Gary Peters, slightly edited for clarity.
Matt Laslo: “Hey, how are you, Sen. Peters?”
Gary Peters: “Hello.”
ML: “Hey, how are you?”
GP: “Good, how are you doing?”
ML: “Surviving.”
GP: “That’s good.”
ML: “Was curious, kind of a random question.”
GP: “Really? From you? A random question? That’s unusual.”
We both laugh.
ML: “Well, I’m curious, have you looked into the UAP whistleblower, UFO whistleblower?”
GP: “The what?”
ML: “The UAP or UFO whistleblower.”
GP: “Whistleblower — what whistleblower are you talking about?”
ML: “He came out a month or so ago, David Grusch. And he’s claiming — I’m surprised you haven’t heard of it.”
GP: “No, I may have, but I don’t recall.”
ML: “Well, he claims that for years the US government has craft, recovered craft but then also that they’ve lied to Congress about SAPs.”
GP: “Yea, I don’t know, I don’t really know about it.”
ML: “Appreciate ya.”
