Before becoming a US senator in 2011, John Boozman (R-AR) spent a decade in the US House of Representatives. So even as he’s the top Republican — or Ranking Member — on the Senate Agriculture Committee, he’s been keeping an eye on the Congressional UAP Caucus and other inquiries happening at the Capitol.
“Nobody really knows. So I think it’s kinda neat that they’re pushing it,” Boozman exclusively told Ask a Pol.
Boozman is a member of the Defense Appropriations Committee, which is charged with funding the US military annually.
“It comes up peripherally, but this is something that really is on the mind of the American public,” Boozman said.
While Boozman hadn’t heard of UFO whistleblower David Grusch when we spoke with him in early July, he says he’s been watching the UAP debate heat up in Washington in recent years.
“I think all America is,” Boozman said.

TRANSCRIPT: Sen. John Boozman
Below find a rough transcript of Ask a Pol’s interview with Sen. John Boozman (R-AR) on UFO whistleblower David Grusch, slightly edited for clarity.
Matt Laslo: “Got a random question for you, have you heard of this UAP-UFO whistleblower David Grusch?”
John Boozman: “I haven’t.”
ML: “It’s interesting cause [Sen. Marco] Rubio — I guess the Intelligence Committee is looking into it. But he makes two claims, one is that the US government has recovered craft — otherworldly craft.”
JB: “Really?”
ML: “The second claim is that there’s these SAP’s — special access programs — hidden from Congress, and that’s why [Sen. Kirsten] Gillibrand is including some language in the NDAA [National Defense Authorization Act] to kinda smoke it out if there. That constitutional claim is the one that I think really enlivened lawmakers.”
JB: “I haven’t heard.”
ML: “Oh no, you got AG [Committee] stuff.”
JB: “No. No. I’m on Defense [Appropriations] and that stuff.”
ML: “Oh, you are Defense Approps? So it just hasn’t come across the radar?”
JB: “It just hasn’t — it comes up peripherally, but this is something that really is on the mind of the American public.”
ML: “Oh yeah, right? Does your staff look into it and stuff?”
JB: “A little bit. Yeah, I’ll talk to these guys, but nobody really knows. So I think it’s kinda neat that they’re pushing it.”
ML: “Interesting. So you’re watching it?”
JB: “I think all America is.”
ML: “Yep, interesting. I’m watching, have a good one sir.”
