Less than a week before David Grusch testified before the House Oversight Committee, Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) told Ask a Pol: “We’ve had a lot of whistleblowers, but I wasn’t aware that we had a UFO whistleblower.”
Cornyn’s a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee.
“I can’t talk about classified information, but I’m not aware of any recovery of aircraft or something like that,” Cornyn said.
While, after six terms, Cornyn was term limited out as Senate Republican Whip, he remains one of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s top generals and is seen as a top contender to replace McConnell one day.
Below find a rough transcript of Ask a Pol’s interview with Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), slightly edited for clarity.
Transcript by Camila Aponte and Noah Kolenda.
Matt Laslo: “How are you doing, sir?”
John Cornyn: “Morning.”
ML: “I’m curious, have you looked into this UAP/UFO whistleblower David Grusch?”
JC: “Say that again?”
ML: “Have you looked into the UFO whistleblower David Grusch?”
JC: “We had a lot of whistleblowers, but I wasn’t aware that we had a UFO whistleblower.”
ML: “No? Interesting.”
JC: “What did they say?”
ML: “Well, interesting. Talk to Rubio about it because they claim that…”
JC: “Well, he’s the expert.”
ML: “They claim the government has recovered craft but more so that they’ve lied about SAPs to Congress, and that’s the part that really riled Rubio up, so they’re exploring it.”
JC: “Yeah, I mean, I can’t talk about classified information, but I’m not aware of any recovery of aircraft or something like that.”
ML: “Appreciate ya, sir.”
