Below find a rough transcript of Ask a Pol’s interview with Rep. Tom Emmer (R-MN), slightly edited for clarity.
TRANSCRIPT: Rep. Tom Emmer
Matt Laslo: “What’d you make of the SEC’s announcement on crypto?”
Tom Emmer: “It's amazing to me. What happened to Gary Gensler?”
ML: “Right?”
TE: “It's about time. It was so intellectually inconsistent to allow the futures market and the CFTC and not to do that.”
ML: “You feel like he was forced into that or no?”
TE: “No. I think he did the right thing.”
ML: “Yeah? Preciate ya.”*
*will circle back soon with a more precise question for Emmer, as he didn’t hear that I was asking if this move negated Gensler’s previous stances; admittedly in an imprecise way.
