TRANSCRIPT: Sen. Mark Warner
SCENE: After voting on the Senate floor, Sen. Mark Warner and an aide exit the Capitol through the basement when Ask a Pol’s Matt Laslo briefly catches up with Warner before he takes a call (possibly from the aide next to him…) and ends the impromptu interview.
Matt Laslo: “Hear Gillibrand's gonna have a UAP hearing in November, it looks like, in the Senate?”
Warner stairs blankly at Ask a Pol.
ML: “…from Armed Services.”
Mark Warner: “I did not — I didn't know. I know she's very interested.”
ML: “She wants the head of AARO…”
MW: “Pardon me?”
ML: “She wants the head of AARO to come in and do a public hearing. She thinks it would be good for the American public to hear from the head of AARO.”
MW: “I think, you know, as we've talked about this a lot of times, you know, I think more disclosure the better.”
ML: “Yeah?”
Sen. Warner picks up his phone.
MW: “I gotta take this one.”
ML: “Okay.”
Laslo laughs and turns to other reporters.
ML: “He doesn’t have a phone call — actually, no, I bet his staffer called…”
