Ask a Pol asks:

What do you make of House Intel — or HPSCI — Ranking Democrat Jim Himes telling us the UAP investigation is a waste of time?

Key Moskowitz:

“What do you think AARO is gonna walk in and be like, ‘yeah, it's true?’” Rep. Jared Moskowitz exclusively tells Ask a Pol.

Right?

“I mean, we know that there are UAPs. And we know that there are UAPs they can't explain,” Moskowitz says. “Why can't they explain them?”

Caught our ear:

“I don't do this deep-state nonsense. But no, there is definitely concerted effort by our government — right? — to keep information from us,” Moskowitz says. “When the stealth helicopters came out of Area 51, right, to go kill Osama bin Laden, nobody knew those helicopters existed.”

Second public UFO hearing in House in doubt…or is it?

Will there be a public UAP hearing ahead of the election?

“My Republican colleagues have been pushing the Speaker on this. They’ve told me we're going to get a select [UAP] committee. I signed that letter, it didn't happen,” Moskowitz tells us. “I think right now it looks like it's done.”*

*Ask a Pol’s 2 cents:

UAP Caucus Co-chairs Burchett and Luna continue telling us differently. Though Moskowitz is far from alone in his increasingly depressed take, in part, cause it seems like even Congressional UAP Caucus members aren’t really talking across the aisles these bitterly divided, high-dollar days.

Ask a Pol’s 5 cents:

So, stay tuned for more…especially after Congress’ August recess. There’s a slim chance this hyper hyper-partisan silly season on Capitol Hill subsides, if momentarily, pre-election — especially if these members are reminded the American people are crying out for competence and refreshed by (formerly…?) nonpartisan issues. UAPs remained one of just a few of those insanely UN-partisan policy areas — others? see: Ask a Pol’s cannabis and crypto coverage, for starters… — until recent weeks…

TRANSCRIPT: Rep. Jared Moskowitz

SCENE: On a disgustingly and drippily humid day, Ask a Pol waits in the wings near the Capitol steps as Moskowitz talks to some activists.

Then we let some rookie reporter have Moskowitz first. Kid proceeds to run some lame theories past Moskowitz — which is not journalism, son — but we hang on until we get the fiery Florida Democrat solo, as him and an aide are crossing the street from the US Capitol back to his office across the street.

Jared Moskowitz: “Yeah, alright, you got it.”

Matt Laslo: “Hey, how you doing, sir?”

JM: “What's going on?”

ML: “Talking to top Dem on Intel, Himes, and he said they had a briefing from AARO [All-domain Aerial Resolution Office].”

JM: “Ooh.”

ML: “Have you ever talked with him about it?”

JM: “Jim Himes?”

ML: “Yeah.”

JM: “Yeah, of course, but he can't, unless I go into a SCIF [Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility] with him, he can't tell me what the briefing was.”

ML: “Well, he says this whole UAP investigation is a waste of time. Like, he's 1,000% convinced and has been by AARO.”

JM: “What do you think AARO is gonna walk in and be like, ‘yeah, it's true?’”

ML: “Right?”

JM: “I mean, we know that there are UAPs. And we know that there are UAPs they can't explain.”

ML: “Right?”

JM: “Why can't they explain them?”

ML: “Where do you wanna see this investigation go?”

JM: “I mean, we talked to pilots, right? We talked to pilots — decorated pilots, people not part of this whole thing who say, ‘I know what I saw,’ right? Over bases. So, you know, look — I don't do this deep-state nonsense. But no, there is definitely a concerted effort by our government to keep information from us. When the stealth helicopters came out of Area 51 to go kill Osama bin Laden, nobody knew those helicopters existed.”

ML: “Right?”

JM: “Okay? And the only reason we know they exist is because one of them crashed.”

ML: “Yeah, right?”

JM: “Right.”

ML: “Do you think we'll get a public UAP hearing ahead of the election?”

JM: “I mean, look, my Republican colleagues have been pushing the Speaker on this. They’ve told me we're going to get a Select [UAP] Committee. I signed that letter, it didn't happen. I think it — I think, right now it looks like it's done.”

ML: “Yeah? We'll see.”

JM: “You got it.”

ML: “Preciate you. Have a good Fourth.”
