Who?
Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) — Congressional UAP Caucus; Oversight Committee
LISTEN: Laslo & Moskowitz
Ask a Pol asks:
Sen. Mike Rounds (R-SD) told us that his UAPDA measure with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is still being negotiated. Do you know what's up with the NDAA — National Defense Authorization Act — and UAPs? Are we gonna see the UAPDA this year?
Key Moskowitz:
“I've heard that from some of my Republican colleagues,” Rep. Jared Moskowitz exclusively tells Ask a Pol. “And we’re hoping that when we get into lame duck that we can do some more UAP things.”
ICYMI — Sen. Rounds tells us UAPDA still alive
Caught our ear:
“It just depends on whether the majority here makes that a big deal,” Moskowitz tells us. “Whether the members that you and I talk to that care about the UAP stuff, whether they can get the speaker to make it a priority.“

TRANSCRIPT: Rep. Jared Moskowitz
SCENE: Ask a Pol caught up with Rep. Moskowitz just outside the floor of the US House of Representatives after he cast one of his last votes ahead of November’s elections.
Matt Laslo: “Quick second?”
Jared Moskowitz: “Yeah.”
ML: “Do you know what's up with the NDAA and UAPs?”
JM: “I don't.”
ML: “It was interesting, talking to Sen. Rounds who's the co-sponsor of the UAPDA with [Senate Majority Leader Chuck] Schumer. He said because recess is happening and there's no agreement that negotiations might still be alive between now and post-November on NDAA?”
JM: “So I've heard that from some of my Republican colleagues. And we’re hoping that when we get into lame duck that we can do some more UAP things. Maybe we'll get another hearing.”
ML: “Do you — well, there's going to be the hearing on November 13th…”
JM: “Right.”
ML: “But do you think that NDAA this year is still negotiable?”
JM: “I mean, that's up to the majority here.”
ML: “Here [in the House] and there [in the Senate]?”
JM: “Yeah. I mean, a lot of my colleagues here are going to push for it, just depends how hard, depends if they can get the speaker's ear. Yeah.”
ML: “Did you — I know that [Rep. Robert] Garcia was a little harder on the Republican majority a couple months ago — but do you think the House is now actively talking about the UAPDA? Cause they weren’t in the NDAA?”
JM: “I mean, it just depends on whether the majority here makes that a big deal, right?”
ML: “Yeah?”
JM: “Whether the members that you and I talk to that care about the UAP stuff, whether they can get the speaker to make it a priority.”
ML: “And that's just politics?”
JM: “That's just politics.”
ML: “Preciate ya.”
