Well that's awkward. But we got a clear "not me" though we still don't know who actually stopped the UAPDA last year, even with lots of rumors and denials.
For real. There were so many denials of action in the house last year. I think top down, we'd be looking at Rogers at the very least. But a year out, all we'd get is "I don't recall" A bill like Schumer's doesn't show up in a vacuum, and it wasn't even controversial to the public.
Gold. Did Rep Mace confirm she was getting pressure to cancel the hearing? The screen shot suggests she was, but could just be a reaction to how your unseen question was phrased.
Thank you for all you do. You keep us informed and entertained on the road to the hearing. You have most often kept the ball rolling and information moving forward to politicians and us.
Shaggy defense from Himes
Thank you Matt
"One committee doesn't GENERALLY cancel another committee's hearing." How about SPECIFICALLY canceling this one???👀

Matt, thanks for all you do.
Still so curious on who 1) has power 2) cares about UAPDA enough to gut it behind closed doors — it’s Schumer’s bill, on paper at least…

Naw. Not that she told me and we texted a bit. Just seemed a baseless rumor -- from what I've heard (from Mace and Himes...)
Interesting. Very interesting.
On a related topic, who do I need to know to get a seat in this hearing? ◡̈
