Who?
Rep. Stephen Lynch (D-MA) — Oversight Subcommittee on CyberSecurity, IT & Government Innovation
LISTEN: Laslo & Lynch
Ask a Pol asks:
What do you make of the ongoing UAP investigation?
Key Lynch:
“I think we’re getting conflicting briefings from parties that are supposed to be informing Congress,” Rep. Stephen Lynch exclusively tells Ask a Pol. “Some of those briefings seem to confirm sightings and raise more questions. Other briefings seem to downplay.”
ICYMI — Lynch is on Chair Nancy Mace’s subcommittee
Caught our ear:
“You can even ask the same questions and get different answers,” Lynch tells us.
Below find a rough transcript of Ask a Pol’s exclusive interview with Rep. Stephen Lynch (D-MA), slightly edited for clarity.
TRANSCRIPT: Rep. Stephen Lynch
SCENE: In the middle of the Nov. 13th public UAP hearing on the House, Rep. Lynch quietly exited after questioning the witnesses when Ask a Pol’s Matt Laslo finds him in the hall outside the hearing.
Matt Laslo: “How are you, sir?”
Stephen Lynch: “How are you?”
ML: “You were in that UAP, right?”
SL: “I was, yup.”

*Student? Lost your gig? Hard times? Been there. Got you. No questions asked. Just ping us.
ML: “Why'd you want to check it out? Is that your subcommittee or...?”
SL: “Yeah, that's my subcommittee, right.”
ML: “What do you make of the issue?”
SL: “Well, I think we’re getting conflicting briefings...”
ML: “Yeah?”
SL: “...from parties that are supposed to be informing Congress. So, some of those briefings seem to confirm sightings and raise more questions…”
ML: “Yeah?”
SL: “…other briefings seem to downplay.”
ML: “Interesting.”
SL: “So, so when you think about it, it’s supposed to be to inform Congress, and they’re giving us conflicting information.”
ML: “And that's what some members in there have told me, that they have been a little frustrated because they've had to learn how to ask the right questions where it kind of feels like the administration's been withholding...”
SL: “Yeah, but you can even ask the same questions and get different answers.”
ML: “Oh, interesting. That's no good.”
SL: “Yeah, it's not good. Not good. So I share their frustration. And I think we need more transparency and more accountability in terms of our information sources.”
ML: “Yeah? And this is one of those rare issues…”
Lynch starts entering his office just down the hall from the Oversight Committee hearing room.
ML: “Oh, you got your office.”
SL: “Alright.”
ML: “Yup. Good to see you. Have a good one.”
