Who?
Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) — Congressional UAP Caucus; Oversight and Armed Services Committees
LISTEN: Laslo & Mace
Background:
Congress is still on its two week Easter break, and we came across this previously unpublished February interview with Rep. Nancy Mace. It was right after House Intelligence Committee Chair Mike Turner dropped his ominous warning about a Russian nuclear program in space.
We never posted, in part, because Mace still hadn’t been to the SCIF to read the classified report. But here it is in its entirety, for what it’s worth.
Throwback: Remember Mike Turner warned of a Russian nuclear program in space?
Ask a Pol asks Mace:
What did you think of Intel Chair Turner airing their dirty laundry?
“Who’s dirty laundry are we talking about?”
The Intel Committee’s or Russia’s? We don’t know whose laundry it is.
Key Mace:
“We get threats constantly all around the world,” Mace told Ask a Pol in February. “Y’know, space is no different. Technology’s advancing we should always be concerned, which is why we need to be smart about how we spend money on defense, right? But we’re constantly under threat.”
ICYMI — UAP Caucus members weren’t buying what Turner was selling
Caught our ear:
When it comes to UAPs, many of your colleagues feel like it’s foreign nations, and it seems like Intel Chair Mike Turner’s very dismissive of that. But then with this issue — or maybe they’re not UAPs, they’re Russian craft?
“Yeah, I don’t know,” Mace told us. “I haven’t verified. I haven’t seen the data on that yet.”
Below find a rough transcript of Ask a Pol’s exclusive interview with Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC), slightly edited for clarity.
TRANSCRIPT: Rep. Nancy Mace
Matt Laslo: “How are you, young lady?”
Nancy Mace: “I’m good, how are you?”
ML: “Livin’ the dream. Have you been to the SCIF yet?”
NM: “What’s that?”
ML: “What did you think of Turner airing their dirty laundry?”
ICYMI — UAP Caucus members don’t trust Turner
NM: “Who’s dirty laundry are we talking about?”
ML: “The [Intel] Committee’s or Russia’s? I don’t know whose laundry it is.”
NM: “I haven’t seen it yet. I was trying to go there today, if it was still available, haven’t had a chance to look at it yet. But I was gonna go there this afternoon and take a look.”
ML: “Yup. And it seems like it? Yeah?”
NM: “We get threats constantly all around the world.”
ML: “Yeah?”
NM: “Y’know, space is no different. Technology’s advancing we should always be concerned, which is why we need to be smart about how we spend money on defense, right? But we’re constantly under threat. I mean…”
ML: “Well, I guess some people when it comes to the UAP issue, they kinda feel like it’s foreign nations, and it seems like Turner’s very dismissive of that. But then with this issue — or maybe they’re not UAPs, they’re Russian craft?”
NM: “Yeah, I don’t know. I haven’t verified. I haven’t seen the data on that yet.”
ML: “Preciate ya.”
