“I'm aware that there's going to be possibly a hearing and that she was going to chair it,” Garcia says. “But we haven't gotten any details about it yet.”

“I don't know if that matters,” Garcia tells us. “I think we should have another hearing, so whenever that hearing is, it'll be good.”

SCENE: Ask a Pol’s Matt Laslo catches Rep. Robert Garcia briefly as he’s heading inside the US Capitol to vote at the end of September.
Matt Laslo: “You're on Oversight, right?”
Robert Garcia: “Yeah.”
ML: “Do you know about the UAP hearing in November?”
RG: “I'm hearing about it, but we've heard nothing official yet.”
ML: “November 13th...”
RG: “Oh, okay. We actually have a…”
ML: “…and I guess [Rep. Nancy] Mace is going to be chairing it.”
RG: “So I mean, I'm aware that there's going to be possibly a hearing and that she was going to chair it, but we haven't gotten any details about it yet.”
ML: “Do you think that's good though?”
RG: “Yeah. I mean, great.”
ML: “But, I mean, is it better having it after the election?”
RG: “I don't know if that matters. I think we should have another hearing, so whenever the hearing is, I think, it'll be good.”
ML: “Yep. I’ll be watching. Preciate ya.”
