Who?
Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) — Oversight & Accountability Committee; Congressional UAP Caucus
LISTEN: Laslo & Moskowitz
ICYMI — Ask a Pol’s exclusive w/ Rep. Luna
Ask a Pol asks:
Is it good that there’ll be a new UAP hearing after August recess?
Key Moskowitz:
“We’ve gotta continue to keep the topic going on,” Rep. Jared Moskowitz exclusively tells Ask a Pol. “You know, of all the things people come up and talk to me about — and obviously, right now we're talking about the election and Biden and Kamala Harris and Trump and all these things and the assassination attempt — but more people come to me and talk to me about, ‘Hey, what's going on with UAPs?’”
Why so much interest from public these days?
“I think there's just a lot of intrigue and, you know, a lot of mistrust in information we've been given,” Moskowitz says. “I think people trust the folks that have come forward — former pilots, you know, Army folks who tell us what they’ve seen. And so, you know, there's always a lot of intrigue on things we don't understand.”
SIZZLIN’ SUMMER SALE: Congress is out, but we’re in!
Caught our ear:
“So look, these hearings — UAP or yesterday* — is a good example that when Congress actually unites we actually can get things accomplished,” Moskowitz tells us.
*the previous day Moskowitz and other Oversight Committee members teamed up on then-Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle, forcing her to resign the following day.

TRANSCRIPT: Rep. Jared Moskowitz
SCENE: After voting on the House floor at the end of July, Moskowitz is heading back to his office across the street when Ask a Pol’s Matt Laslo catches up with him. The two then walk together for a bit, traversing loud security barriers and lawmaker’s speeding cars and one scooter...
Matt Laslo: “So we’re gonna get a UAP hearing after August recess?”
Jared Moskowitz: “I, oh — you’ve got to talk to [Rep. Anna Paulina] Luna. Luna’s the one working on that.”
ML: “I just did. She just told me that you guys are gonna have one.”
JM: “Good. I'm glad.” *
ML: “Is that good?”
JM: “Yeah. We gotta — we’ve gotta continue to keep the topic going on…”
JM: “…you know, of all the things people come up and talk to me about — and obviously, right now we're talking about the election and Biden and Kamala Harris and Trump and all these things and the assassination attempt — but more people come to me and talk to me about, ‘Hey, what's going on with UAPs?’”
ML: “Really?”
JM: “Yeah. Totally true.”
ML: “What do you mark that up to?”
JM: “What’s that?”
ML: “What do you mark that up to?”
JM: “I think there's just a lot of intrigue and, you know, a lot of mistrust in information we've been given. I think people trust the folks that have come forward — former pilots, you know, Army folks who tell us what they’ve seen. And so, you know, there's always a lot of intrigue on things we don't understand.”
ML: “Yeah? What do you — and do you think, because the election is heating up, that this — because this is bipartisan or nonpartisan, that it might be one of the few things you all can productively do this fall?”
JM: “Yeah. Well, look, look at the hearing [with former Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle] yesterday in Oversight [Committee].”
ML: “Yeah.”
Bystander: “You did a great job — watched the whole thing.”
JM: “Oh, thank you. And she [Dir. Cheatle] resigned, which is good.”
Bystander: “Yeah.”
JM: “Well, look at yesterday. It's a bipartisan hearing. We came together, and look at the result.”
ML: “Yeah?”
JM: “So look, these hearings — UAP or yesterday — is a good example that when Congress actually unites we actually can get things accomplished.”
ML: “Yeah? Fancy that?”
JM: “Fancy that.”
Both laugh.
ML: “Good to see ya.”
JM: “You got it.”
